Thursday 4 November

Acclaimed for her “visionary and sophisticated playing”

Stephanie has a wide and exciting repertoire

encompassing many musical styles and eras.

Following five years of study with Hannah Roberts at RNCM, Stephanie is now continuing her postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of David Strange and Felix Schmidt. Stephanie was a finalist in the J and A Beare International Solo Bach Competition 2009, and has been the recipient of scholarships from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust, Stephen Bell Charitable Trust, Craxton Memorial Trust and the Musicians’ Benevolent Fund, as well as two RNCM Entrance Awards and an Arts and Humanities Research Council grant. In July 2008 Stephanie achieved a First Class BMus (Hons) degree from RNCM and, after achieving the highest ‘cello mark in the Final Recitals, was awarded the Leonard Rose ‘Cello Prize. In 2009 she gained a PGDip (Performance) with Distinction and became a Fellow of the Royal Schools of Music, earning the right to add the letters FRSM to her name.

In 2002, Stephanie made her concerto debut playing Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations with the Wirral Symphony Orchestra, and has since performed Elgar's ‘Cello Concerto several times with orchestras across North England. In September 2007 she returned to the Wirral to perform the Dvorak Concerto. Stephanie has given solo recital concerts across the country, including highly acclaimed solo Bach recitals in the Manchester International Festival 2009 and the Leamington and Warwick Music Festival 2009. She is very pleased to be participating in the Countess of Munster Recital Scheme (2009-2011).

Stephanie plays regularly with BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and has played with London Symphony Orchestra as a participant on the prestigious String Experience Scheme. She is also an active chamber musician and, as a member of the Martindale String Quartet (2004-2009), has performed in concerts across England and in festivals including Buxton, Swaledale, Peterborough and the Lake District Summer Music Festival. Stephanie now performs in a piano trio as well as a guitar and cello duo.
