young and talented orchestra under its gifted director Ronald
Corp
has developed an astonishingly fresh repertoire of
twentieth century music, all of it deserving to be much better
known. With every performance they demonstrate that the
music of our time is both accessible and enjoyable.
Professor Malcolm Grant CBE
The
New London Orchestra is delighted that Professor Malcolm Grant,
President
and Provost of UCL has become a Patron of the
New London Orchestra from October 2004. Professor Grant
is a barrister, an environmental lawyer, academic and public
servant. He took up the post of President and Provost – the
principal academic and administrative officer of UCL – on

Anne Johnson ...
... was the founder of the Phyllis Gardiner Memorial Trust,
the major supporter of the New London Orchestra during its first
ten years, and commissioned a number of compositions by its Musical
Director, Ronald Corp. She is a committee member of the Highgate
Choral Society, and of the Lionel Robbins Memorial trust, which
has made post-graduate awards to musicians as well as to economists.
She was formerly a teacher specialising in young children with
reading difficulties.
Christopher Johnson ...
... was a journalist on The Times and the Financial Times,
then Chief Economic Adviser and a General Manager of Lloyds Bank.
He was Visiting Professor of Economics at Surrey University,
a member of the Sadler's Wells Theatre Board, a specialist adviser
to the Treasury Select Committee of the House of Commons, and
Chairman of the British section of the Franco-British Council.
He is now U.K. Adviser to the Association for the Monetary Union
of Europe. His latest book is In with the Euro, out with the
Pound: the single Currency for Britain. He writes, lectures and
broadcasts on economic financial and cultural topics. He is a
Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur.

Member of Parliament for South Norfolk from February 1974 until
2001. Fifteen years as a Government Minister, nine of them in
five Cabinet posts. Now a Non-Executive Director with four companies.'Ronald
