Past Projects
The Dana Centre
The New London Orchestra has collaborated on a number of events at the Dana Centre, a unique venue in London which stages informative and engaging events about science, technology and culture.
Since its ‘Music and the Mind’ festival, which put the Orchestra on the map as an organisation at the cutting edge of scientific research relating to music, partnerships have developed with key scientists in this area. The Dana Centre is a perfect forum for public engagement of science, and music is a valuable tool in engaging people in a range of subjects.

Chiswick House project
In 2005, in collaboration with English Heritage, the New London Orchestra created two projects for the Chiswick House Summer Festival: creating and performing an original song with three local primary schools, and creating a unique installation using spatial sound, CCTV and live orchestral musicians in collaboration with Thor McIntyre-Burnie.
Urban Voices
In 2003-2004, supported by the National Lottery’s Community Fund, and Network Pathfinder, Urban Voices involved 300 people from schools and community groups in Gospel Oak, Camden. The participants wrote text about their area for a composition by Ronald Corp which was performed in February 2004 at Talacre Sports Centre. This project also included DJ workshops for the Queens Crescent Youth Inclusion Project, who performed their track at the final concert.

" This is the first conference on music psychology I know about that has been the result of a collaboration between an orchestra and researchers, specifically with the initiative for the event being in the hands of the orchestra. The consequent combination of scientific and artistic events was unique, and was reflected in the very high attendance from a wide range of participants. "
Professor John Sloboda
" I believe ‘Music and the Mind’ forms the beginning of a new renaissance… truly an immense gift to both musicians and scientists alike. "
Professor Paul Robertson
