East London

Building on the success of its ‘Newham Welcomes the World’ project, the New London Orchestra now plans to focus its concerts, education projects and community work across the East London boroughs of Newham, Greenwich, Hackney and Tower Hamlets.

We will also expand the breadth of artistic organisations we are working with in East London. We are currently working with the Theatre Royal Stratford East, Stratford Circus, The Newham Music Trust, and the Five Olympic Boroughs.

Since there is no venue designed for orchestral concerts in the area we plan to take our performances into the community, performing affordable and accessible programmes in town halls, community centres and other public spaces. The programmes will be a mixture of familiar classics and some more unusual music so as to maintain the New London Orchestra’s trademark programming style and to encourage our new audiences to hear a wide range of music.
